Spring is here! Time to relax.

Springtime in the city. I love this time of year… the streets are carpeted with pink cherry blossoms. Magnolias are blossoming and on the ground, daffodils and tulips brighten gardens. It is time to spring clean now that the sun shining. We put away our scarves and gloves and clean out our closets and our homes, inside and out. It’s a busy, wonderful time of year. But this year, I want to suggest you don’t get too busy to relax. You should also make time in your schedule to rejuvenate your spirit. My idea? A regular relaxation massage.

Many of us have a tendency to fill our days with things to do. As soon as we open our eyes, our minds are busy running through all the things we need to get done that day. Then our feet hit the ground and off we go. At the end of the day, when we crawl back into bed, it’s quite common (especially for women) to review the day. From what we did, or didn’t do. From our interactions with others, to things we could have done better. It’s not very relaxing, is it?

If this sounds familiar then you are a very good candidate for regular relaxation massage. When you schedule in a regular massage, it is not a selfish thing. It is something that your body, and your mind and spirit, deeply craves to keep you in better health. A relaxation massage will lower your stress levels and balance you so you can go through your day feeling more centered and calm and able to deal with things in a healthier way. It can also help you relax and sleep instead of lying in bed, with your mind constantly whirling.

“Over 95% of all illnesses occur because of stress in the body’s autonomic nervous system” according to a study by Stanford University

A relaxation massage can reduce your heart rate, lower blood pressure, increase blood circulation and lymph flow, relaxes muscles, and also increase your range of motion and boost your endorphins, which act as your body’s natural painkillers.

We specialize in making our clients feel relaxed and tailor your relaxation massage to your needs and preferences. Some people prefer a combination of Swedish massage with light-touch massage. For others, a deeper session is better suited. Then we perform therapeutic deep tissue massage, and focus on stretching tight muscles and stiff joints. Your sessions can change depending on your needs. The one thing that remains the same is not just the massage, but how you feel after your relaxation massage. Not only will you feel more relaxed, but this type of session will have lasting effects that leave you feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on the day.

Look at your schedule and make sure you schedule a monthly or biweekly relaxation massage. It is the easiest way to reduce stress and help your mind and body to heal itself and cope with the ongoing stresses in your life.
